Well Momma Birth & Breastfeeding

Well, hi!
Not me disappearing for 6 months...woops!
I won't lie, 2025 was both a year of blessings and struggles... a lot of internal struggle about who I am, what I want and what life looks like on fulfilling my purpose as a mother, a woman and an entrepreneur.
It's a new year, a fresh start and the very day that marks 18 months breastfeeding my beautiful daughter ❤️
I could not be more thankful for finding .thompson.method both as a mother and as a woman who is being guided to guide, support and hold space for other women.
I'm Sarah, Saskatchewan momma to 2 beautiful babes, wife to an amazingly hard working husband, and a Thompson Method Breastfeeding Educator.

What: The Beautiful Breastfeeding Program (breastfeeding preparation classes)

Allow me to gently guide, educate, support and empower you in making informed decisions in your labor, birth and breastfed journeys.

What's the problem with not preparing to breastfeed?

To name a few things...
- Albeit natural and instinctual, it doesn't "just happen" for a lot of women
- You won't necessarily have a proper understanding of how labor & birth, interventions, oral devices and supplements affect breastfeeding and milk volume.
- Outdated techniques and misinformation is everywhere and lead to undesired outcomes
- Painful ni**le trauma, low milk volume, clogged ducts, engorgement and mastitis are far too prevalent and lead to mothers feeling they can no longer breastfeed (and in turn breastfeeding rates have plummeted over the last decades.)
- Social media culture and trends create unrealistic expectations and pressure for breastfeeding and expressing mothers

My goal as your breastfeeding educator is to be sure you have a thorough understanding of how labor/birth/interventions can affect breastfeeding as well as:
- how breastfeeding is established and how it regulates
- how to navigate unexpected situations such as mother baby separation
- the baby's hunger and satisfaction cues
- a fussy, unsettled baby
- how to achieve face to breast symmetry to avoid painful ni**le trauma and other common complications
- expressing (pumping,)
- bottle and pacifier use
And sooooo much more!

Classes are online and are 1 hr, once a week for 4 weeks.
