Our year end band concert is happening today at 1:00 pm. We were hoping to have it outside today but do not want to take any chances with the weather. We will have it in our large gym this afternoon. Look forward to seeing you then! ☺️

Hockey Academy—Registration closes May 15, 2026

Saskatoon Public Schools is launching a new Hockey Academy for the 2026-27 school year in partnership with Trach Power Skating & Skills, providing Grade 6-8 (male and female) students with the opportunity to combine high-quality on-ice and leadership/life skills development with their regular academic programming. The academy is offered at five SPS schools: Chief Whitecap, Estey, Lakeridge, École River Heights, Willowgrove.
The program is just for students in grades 6-8 at all schools; however, Estey School provides an academy model for students who wish to continue in grades 9-12.

The Hockey Academy is open to students of varying skill levels and will operate two mornings per week — Mondays and Wednesdays. Participants will follow the basic structure of a regular school day but with their academy mornings divided between the classroom and academy training. Students will be transported by bus between the school and arena after arriving at school and return before the start of lunch break. A Saskatoon Public Schools teacher will be onsite at Jemini Arena to provide dedicated academic instruction, support, and supervision.

Students must register with Trach and confirm registration at one of the participating Saskatoon Public Schools to be eligible for Hockey Academy.
Trach Hockey Academy Registration Form: https://trachpowerskating.com/event-category/saskatoon-academy/

Questions?
Registration, fees, and on-ice programming will be managed by Trach Power Skating & Skills, and families with questions about the hockey component of the academy are encouraged to contact Trach directly at [email protected]

Questions about the academic component can be directed to any participating school.

Registration for Hockey Academy closes on May 15, 2026.

May 5th is recognized as National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S), also known as Red Dress Day. On this day, we are encouraged to wear red to honour and remember missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people. It is a day to encourage one another to take action for change.

We encourage students and staff to wear red on Tuesday, May 5. You may also notice red dresses displayed in trees, windows, or other visible spaces throughout the community. Saskatoon Public Schools invites us to participate in the act of remembrance and awareness.
