Dear HCLS Families,

Thank you for registering with Heritage Chinese Language School (沙城華語學校) for the 2026–2027 school year! We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another year of Chinese language learning, culture, and community.

September 13 — Welcome & Registration Day
This year, we are starting the school year with a Welcome Day on Sunday, September 13.

Welcome Session for Students: 1:00–2:00 pm
Students are invited to attend a one-hour welcome session with their teachers and classmates. This will give students a chance to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, reconnect with friends, and get ready for the new school year.

Registration Table: 1:00–3:00 pm
Our registration table will remain open until 3:00 pm for families who need to complete registration, make a payment, or speak with us about registration or class placement.

Students do not need to stay until 3:00 pm. The student Welcome Session ends at 2:00 pm.

September 20 — First Regular Class
Regular language classes begin on Sunday, September 20, from 1:00–3:00 pm.

We are pleased to introduce our teaching team for the 2026–2027 school year:

Cantonese: Yuri Li, Hailey Ching

Cantonese Community & Leadership Program: Ericson Wong and Miriam Chu

Mandarin: Lijuna (Elena) Li and Fenwei (Sabrina) Yang

Credit Class: Zifang (Richard) Lin

Chengcheng Quan will also return to our Mandarin teaching team in October.

We are very grateful to all of our teachers for sharing their time, experience, and enthusiasm with our students.

📚 Registration for Heritage Chinese Language School is now OPEN! 🎉

Give your child the opportunity to learn Mandarin or Cantonese in a fun and supportive environment! Our program includes: 🇨🇳 Basic conversation 📖 Reading & writing 🈶 Pinyin & Chinese characters 🎎 Cultural activities

✨ Register early and save! 💰 Save $40 when you register by August 31.

Classes run Sundays from September to June at Aden Bowman (1904 Clarence Ave S).

Our students are hard at work practicing their calligraphy for the upcoming HCLS Calligraphy Contest! It’s so special to see their patience, creativity, and dedication come through in every stroke.

Calligraphy is more than just writing — it’s an art, a discipline, and a beautiful way to connect with Chinese culture.

We can’t wait to see their final pieces and celebrate their efforts soon. 💛

There will be no classes this Easter weekend. We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful holiday with family and friends! 🐣💛

While you’re away, don’t forget—our students have their fun little textbooks to keep up their learning and continue practicing at home 📚✨

We’re excited to see everyone back on April 12, when students will have the chance to learn Chinese calligraphy 🖌️
Even better… it will be a calligraphy contest, with opportunities to win prizes! 🎉
