Exciting news from the USask College of Dentistry 🦷🎓
We’re launching a special fully funded PhD cohort in Precision Oral and Systemic Health (POSH) for the 2026–27 academic year.
Six fully funded PhD positions are available...and applicants are not required to secure a supervisor before applying, helping remove barriers for exceptional students from diverse academic backgrounds.
This announcement comes as the College continues its rise on the global stage, now ranked among the top dentistry and oral sciences programs worldwide in the latest Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.
From AI in dentistry and regenerative medicine to salivary diagnostics and advanced imaging, POSH trainees work at the forefront of research shaping the future of oral and systemic health.

🏅 ProsthOlympics 2026! 🦷
Last Friday, our Year 2 DMD students traded textbooks for a bit of tooth-friendly competition in the ProsthOlympics — a fun and fast-paced afternoon of skill, speed, and smiles!
In the Fixed Prosthodontics arena, students took on:
🪥 Impressions
🧑🔧 Provisional stents
🔩 Abutment preparations
👑 Provisional crowns
Meanwhile, in Removable Prosthodontics, they tackled:

It was a great way to sharpen their clinical skills, support each other, and build camaraderie — all while having a blast!

The newly reimagined Preclinic at the College of Dentistry is giving Year 1 and 2 DMD students an enhanced space to build confidence, develop foundational skills, and begin mastering clinical procedures before transitioning to patient care in their senior years.
Formerly located on the 5th floor of the Health Sciences Building, the new Preclinic has been relocated into the dental clinic building—bringing students closer to the clinical environment from day one. Equipped with modern technology, updated simulation stations, and redesigned learning spaces, the new facility is transforming how students learn and train.
