St. George Catholic Elementary School

St George celebrated World Catholic Education Week with a liturgy and many in-school activities.

St. George held a school wide rosary on Tuesday. Thank you to Ms. Couture and the Grade 8's for leading us.

At St. George School we were blessed to be able to have a full day retreat for students learning about prayer. Father Matthew, Patti, and Colm from Saint Anne’s Parish were able to spend the day with us and helped lead our sessions. Thank you to Miss Couture for all her hard work in organizing this retreat and helping us to provide this great opportunity for our students. We concluded our day by celebrating Mass together.

Kindergarten Open House
It’s that time of year! A Kindergarten Open House will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 5:30PM
Come learn and play with us!
Kindergarten registration for the 2023-24 school year will open in January. St. George Elementary School will be hosting an Open House information session in the new year.
Children who will be 5 years old on or before January 31, 2024 (birthday before January 31, 2019) can register for kindergarten by contacting the school or visiting www.gscs.ca/kindergarten.

St. George School is learning about the Jesse Tree. Each day, we hear about another member of the Jesse Tree and add to our classroom Jesse Tree. We have a large Jesse Tree in the hallway. Whose story was today? Can you find it?

St. George clothing order - order by December 2. Sizers are at the school during 3-way conferences.

Parents and Students - Come visit our Book Fair in the library during 3-Way Conferences.

The students and staff were excited to come together for a student wide retreat on Thursday. We were happy to be able to celebrate all together at Mass to complete our day.

Mrs. Casavant Turner’s class made special valentines for residents at Elmwood Lodge. Thank you for making Valentines Day special for our friends !

Today was Mrs. Kirwan’s last day as she heads off into retirement. We will miss you Mrs Kirwan!

Theodore Case Update:

Supreme Court of Canada will not hear Theodore case

Today, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed Good Spirit (Public) School Division’s application for leave to appeal the Theodore case to the Supreme Court of Canada.
