This year was not just a collection of days.

It was morning music, hallway high fives, hard work, big growth, small victories, field trips, assemblies, friendships, problem solving, laughter, and countless moments of care.

As we wrap up the school year, thank you to our students for bringing energy and heart to our school each day. Thank you to our staff for the steady love, patience, and commitment you give so generously. Thank you to our families and community for trusting us, supporting us, and walking alongside us.

We are proud of all we have learned, built, and shared together.

What a wonderful night celebrating our Grade 8 graduates.

Tonight was a chance to pause, look around, and take in just how far this group has come. Through all the lessons learned, friendships made, challenges overcome, and memories created, our graduates have grown into young people who are ready for what comes next.

As they leave Confederation behind, our wish for them is simple:

May you be kind.
May you be brave.
May you be curious.
May you be warm.
May you make room for others.
May you make room for yourself.
May you find what makes your heart grow and have the courage to follow it.

To the Class of 2026, we hope you always remember that this was a place where people cared about you, believed in you, and wanted good things for your future.

You matter now, exactly as you are.

Congratulations, graduates. We are so proud of you.

🏅 HISTORY IN MOTION
The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire board came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.
