Nominations for Lambton County’s new Early Years Spotlight is Now Open!

Do you know someone in Early Childhood Education who goes beyond every day? We want to recognize early years professionals who bring passion, creativity, and dedication to their work with children and families.

We are looking for nominations to celebrate the outstanding individuals and teams who make Lambton County’s early years programs truly exceptional!

Functions of Behaviours

This workshop will be presented by two Family and Community Consultants with Autism & Behavioural Services from TVCC.

It is intended for Early Years Professionals and ECE Students in Lambton County who are interested in building a deeper understanding of children's behaviour and strengthening their response strategies.

Participants will:
🟡Explore common functions of behaviours and why challenging behaviours occur,
🟡Learn how identifying the purpose behind behaviour can guide effective support strategies,
🟡Discover the role of replacement skills in promoting positive behaviour change,

Today, we pause to honour the children, families, and communities impacted by the legacy of residential schools, and to reflect on our shared responsibility toward truth, reconciliation, and meaningful change.

In early childhood education, we have a unique opportunity to nurture a sense of belonging, respect, and understanding from the very beginning. Through thoughtful conversations, inclusive environments, storytelling, and connections to Indigenous perspectives, cultures, and ways of knowing, we help children develop empathy, appreciation for diversity, and a strong sense of community.

As educators, reconciliation is not a single day of learning. It is an ongoing commitment to listening, learning, reflecting, and taking action. By creating spaces where all children feel seen, valued, and connected, we contribute to a future built on respect, understanding, and hope.

Field Supervisor Connect
