Last Friday was our annual Terry Fox run!

Students spent time in their classrooms learning about Terry before meeting as a school outside together to begin our race. 👟

During the race, students (and parents!) enjoyed running together on the Howard Watson trail, cheering each other on as they ran! 📣

Students were invited to bring a ‘Toonie for Terry’ in support of cancer research, something that hits far too close to home for many of those in our community. Our prayers continue to be with those battling cancer, waiting for test results, or supporting people they love who are fighting it. 🙏

We love giving space for building relationships between grades at SCS!

Reading Buddies have met a couple times so far this year, with our older students taking leadership and showing Christ-like empathy for their younger buddies while enjoying stories and colouring together.

Grade 7 even designed colouring books and presented them to their kindergarten buddies! 🎨

It is a joy to see our throughline of ‘community building’ in action as we continue our Teaching for Transformation journey this year - watch for more collaboration between grades to come! 🤝

Yesterday, the Grade 2/3 class took their first class trip of the year! ☀️

To support their study of plants and animals, they spent time at both the animal farm at Canatara and Fairwind Flower Farm! 🐐💐

Students recorded observations of animals and closely inspected parts of flowers while creating stunning bouquets. What a beautiful day spent learning about God’s amazing creation in a tangible way - we’re thankful for a community full of places to explore and their generosity! 🌻
