Can-Weld Training & Testing Centre

A registered Ontario welding college offering continual enrolment all year. Along with being a welding career college, we are a C.W.B.

We are very proud and pleased to be able to provide to South Western Ontario a total welding training program that addresses the needs of the Chemical Valley and beyond their borders. Accredited Test Centre and provide T.S.S.A. testing since our opening in September 1999. John Arseneault, owner, took his experience as a welder, fabricator, fitter and instructor with his union local and Lambton College and applied that knowledge to opening Can-Weld. Jann has extensive knowledge and experience with administration and industry protocol. We also take pride on our highly qualified team that works with us. It is our sincere desire to make sure that each student that passes through Can-Weld can be confident that he/she succeeds. Together our mission is to operate a “state of the art” welding facility for the next generation of quality welders. Fully operational welder training center. 25 booths with tools, etc. Registered Private Career College: Ministry of Advanced Education & Skills Development Ontario. Happy 26th Anniversary to us! 🥂

Every dream needs a driving force behind it—and for Can-Weld, that force has always been Jann.

When John first shared his wish to open a welding school, Jann is the one who made it real. She grabbed the phone book, made the calls, and set the wheels in motion. From that very first day, she’s been the steady hand and the quiet strength behind the scenes—the note maker, account keeper, bill payer, double checker, and the one who holds everyone—staff and students alike—accountable and on their best behaviour.

While the men have been busy running the shop floor and guiding students in the welding booths, Jann has been carrying just as heavy a load—making sure that everything off the floor is just as strong, stable, and successful. Without her dedication, there would be no doors to open, no approvals to keep, no foundation for the teaching to stand on.

She worked tirelessly applying for approvals to open a private career college, and to this day she continues to ensure every single ministry guideline is met. If you’ve ever called or stepped into Can-Weld over the past 26 years, chances are it was Jann’s voice, kindness, or care that first welcomed you.

Jann isn’t just the backbone of this business—she’s its heart. She is proof that the strength of Can-Weld doesn’t only come from sparks and steel, but from love, determination, and the quiet persistence that she brings every single day.

Here’s to Jann—the woman who turned a dream into reality, stands shoulder to shoulder with those who teach and lead, and continues to keep this school thriving.
