Good morning,

If you ordered a dvd of the Alumni R***e from Ian you need to get in touch with me this week to arrange a time to have them picked up. After this week I will return all unclaimed copies to Ian and you can arrange things with him.

You can pop buy the school if you have time during the day.(Just give me a heads up so I can tell you where to find me and have the dvd's or I will be at Paddy's Friday after school and I can take them there and you can join some teachers for a pint... of milk!

Okay folks... So I am trying to get all of this info pulled together but there are a number of forums that have cropped up. I need you to email me at thescitsr***[email protected] so I can pull everything together.

I am going to create a closed group with only the people I know want to be in the r***e so I can clearly disseminate information.

Sooooo... stop procrastinating and email me with your sketch or song, a copy of the script, who is in it and what year they graduated. ASAP!

Alumni R***e Update:

Hi all!

Well, we are one month out and there has been a great deal of interest... I now need commitment for acts. A number of people have posted intentions on here and now that a group - hosted by Samantha Dira-Mcphee has been opened you may be getting overwhelmed or confused as to where and what to post... or perhaps you are far more technically proficient than I! Not really a big challenge!

I need all acts who are interested to contact me by April 13 at the latest.

If you have a script and need cast members:

Send me the script at thescitsr***[email protected] and post either here or on Sam's group.

If you have a script and have a complete cast ready:

Start rehearsing and send me a script at the same email along with cast members and year of graduation.

If you have a musical act:

Send me the members of your ensemble with year of grad and the song(s) you are preparing. (Please note that I will need to limit musical acts per group depending on time, number of acts etc.)

If you want to help out behind the scenes or with marketing etc:

same deal re contact.

Once I have a list of committed acts I will host a closed group to communicate with those who are committed...
(Or should be!!! :-) )

Here is how the 22nd and 23rd will work:

April 22 - all local cast/musical acts - meet at Scits at 5 pm. Musical acts will go first and sketches can rehearse outside the auditorium. We are scheduled to go until 11 that evening then we may choose to go to a local establishment for a refreshment.

Saturday April 23 -
(We celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.)

Out of town or blended in and out acts rehearse starting at 9. Same protocol - musical acts first followed by sketches. We will go until noon hopefully... there will be a one hour break wherein show order will be established and then everyone will be at Scits for 1 pm.

At that time we will have determined whether we do a repeat show at 6:30 and 9, or two separate shows... it will depend on the number of acts and I expect to have a pretty good idea well before then. The sooner I have a commitment the easier this becomes.

Tickets will be on sale the week of March 28th. Locations will be announced here as soon as I have final confirmation.

After the show Stokes Riverview Room has been reserved for cast and crew... if there is significant interest in adding to that we will need to look into reserving more space, but that is possible.

Okay folks - It's in your hands - get your info to me asap and let's promote this amazing tradition!

There will be an Alumni R***e in April of 2016!

When? April 22/ 23 2016

Where? SCITS auditorium!

Who? SCITS Alumni

Why? A number of reasons including:

1) Bring positive focus to this school and community just days before the decision around amalgamating and closing a school is voted on.

2) Raise funds for Empowerplays' Fine arts support for youth throughout the city as well as teen mental health initiatives.

3) Take the SCITS stage one more time and have a great deal of fun!!!

How will it work?

You can: Either write a script, put a musical act together, organize a dance or revive favourite acts from the past.

Once selected and confirmed the rehearsal schedule will be a whirlwind weekend. As much as possible - Local participants will rehearse Friday the 22nd starting at 5 pm. Those coming from out of town will be scheduled for Saturday am starting at 9.

We will break for lunch Saturday and then at 1 all acts will be run in order.

Two shows - first at 6:30 and second at 9:00.
