🏅 HISTORY IN MOTION
The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire bard came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.

After closely monitoring the weather over the weekend and this morning, they have made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s (Tuesday, June 9) city elementary track and field meet. Instead, we will be using our designated rain date: Wednesday, June 10.

This decision was not made lightly. While Wednesday's forecast isn't perfect, a cross-platform comparison shows a significantly better window for us to get a full day of events in compared to tomorrow.

We were able to contribute 650 food items. We took on this project as part of our social studies curriculum identifying a problem in our community and working together to help solve it. We made lots of social studies, math, and literacy connections. Great job to our Errol Road students and families :)
