Hey Lion’s! Reading Week starts in just a few days and is the perfect time to rest, reset, and care for your mental health. Clayton, our Peer Wellness Mentor, asked students how they’re planning to recharge — what about you?🦁

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour Survivors of residential schools, the children who never made it home, and the ongoing impact felt in Indigenous families and communities. This is a day not only of remembrance, but also of responsibility.

Reconciliation is an active process that calls us to listen, learn, and act with respect and humility. On campus, the Indigenous Student Centre offers a space where students can connect, find support, and engage in meaningful conversations about culture, history, and healing.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and stand alongside Indigenous voices today and every day.🧡

💛 Tomorrow, September 10th, is World Su***de Prevention Day. Today our team tied yellow ribbon and left supportive messages around campus reminding people of something we all need to hear sometimes…you’re not alone in this.

College can feel heavy. Between classes, life, and everything else, it seems like you’ve got to handle it by yourself. But, you don’t. Talking it out, even a little, can make a difference.

You’ll see some new Peer Wellness Mentors around Lion’s Mind this year (a few are in these photos). They’re here to be real with you. To listen, hang out, and help make our space one filled with understanding, compassion, and trust.💙 Reminder about tomorrow’s event with Crock-A-Doodle Sarnia from 11:30am-supplies run out in📍B1-230💛.

And if you ever find yourself needing support right away, you can call 📞 or text 💬 988 anytime.

We’re in this together.🎗️

Let's talk about it for a sec. Summer can be grounding, joyful, messy, and hard...sometimes all in the same day.

Summer isn’t always as light and easy as it looks online. Between the pressure to be social, to look a certain way, to “make the most of it,” and to feel better just because the sun is out... it can feel like a lot.

This post is your reminder that you don’t owe summer anything.
🌱You’re allowed to slow down.
🌱You’re allowed to stay in.
🌱You’re allowed to take care of yourself in ways that feel good to you.

Your summer doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be valid. We see you. We’re with you. You’re not doing it wrong🩵

What’s one thing helping you feel grounded this summer? Let us know in the comments, it might help someone else too⛱

An end-of-May day rooted in connection and community 🩵

Lion’s Mind, Counselling, and Student Services management were proud to represent Lambton College as a sponsor of Inspire 2025. Inspire is an annual powerful event hosted by Fox & The Hound Canine Retreat in support of The Centre, a vital community resource for those impacted by sexual violence and gender-based violence in Sarnia-Lambton.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, shared meals, and heartfelt stories from keynote speakers, Cass Crowe and Alicia McCarvell, who offered powerful reflections on healing, resilience, and the importance of community care.

We are honoured to support spaces & be rooted in a community that fosters awareness, connection, and collective strength.💚
