Ya casi: almost, almost there

¿De cuándo acá? : since when?

¿Qué más da?: so what? Who cares?

¿Quién quita?: you never know

Qué va: no way, not at all

¿Quién iba a decir?: who would’ve thought?

¿Pedir o Preguntar? = to ask 🫪
Here’s the easy way to remember it:

👉 PREGUNTAR = to ask a question
Preguntar una cosa → ask something
Le pregunté su nombre. = I asked their name.

👉 PEDIR = to ask for something / request something
Pedir una cosa → ask for something
Pedí una ce***za. = I asked for a b**r.

So:

❌ Pregunté una ce***za
✅ Pedí una ce***za

❌ Pedí cuál es la capital de Colombia
✅ Pregunté cuál es la capital de Colombia

🍦👀 There’s more than one way to say it in Spanish!

Sometimes it’s about how badly you want it, how you’re feeling, or simply which expression sounds more like YOU 🤷🏻‍♀️

From a simple ‘quiero’ un helado to ‘muero por’ un helado de maracuyá y pistacho… there are so many natural ways to express the same idea.

And honestly? You don’t have to wait until you’re “advanced” to sound more natural.

Try them out, see which one feels like you, and make it yours 💛

When we’re talking about an abstract idea, Spanish often uses lo.

👉 lo importante = the important thing
👉 lo que necesito = what I need
👉 lo que más me gustó = what I liked the most
👉 lo difícil = the difficult part
👉 lo mejor = the best thing

There are other uses of lo, but for now, this is the one to keep in mind: lo + an abstract idea 🧠
