At Ladybug Landing Child Care Centre we believe all children can benefit from an early childhood education that is designed to meet their individual needs and to facilitate their personal development in all areas - physical, social, emotional, cognitive and intellectual. Ladybug Staff provide a safe environment that includes appropriate role modeling and positive reinforcement. Therefore, each child must be treated and taught using various methods that are most effective for them. We recognize that children develop differently and at different stages from one another, because of this, our programs are flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children here. Exploration and independence are major goals for all children. Children are encouraged to develop the attitude "I can do it myself" and are offered assistance when necessary. Our centre provides opportunities for both structured and non-structured activities which are appropriate to the needs and ages of the children. Your child will explore music and movement, dramatic play, stories, field trips, arts and crafts, sign language, self care, pet care, friendship and many more adventures with us. We will strive to provide your child with a "home away from home" experience, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. At Ladybug Landing Child Care Centre we believe that parental involvement is imperative. You are welcome and encouraged to visit us at any time that your schedule allows. The relationship between caregivers and parents is a very special one and we foster it here. Welcome to Ladybug Landing Child Care Centre. 💙 Honoring the Life and Legacy of Lyle Chapman 💙

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Lyle Chapman, a cherished member of the Shuswap community and a dedicated educator, leader, and friend.

Born on September 13, 1972, Lyle's life was one of purpose, connection, and service. From his early years in Haida Gwaii to his impactful career as a teacher, counsellor, and principal, Lyle devoted 28 years to creating safe, supportive, and inspiring spaces for students and staff. His passion for fostering growth and community lives on in the lives he touched.

Beyond his professional achievements, Lyle found immense joy with his family and friends. Whether he was riding his motorcycle, attending concerts, or being a proud “girl dad,” his vibrant spirit was a light to all who knew him.

Lyle’s legacy continues through the Lyle Chapman Memorial Fund, held with the Shuswap Community Foundation. This fund supports causes close to his heart, ensuring that his passion for education and community will make a difference for years to come.
