🍂 FARM FRIDAYS ARE HERE! 🐄🌱🐸

We’re opening up fall dates for Farm Fridays at Pend d’Oreille River Ranch!

Designed for school classes, homeschool groups and youth groups, Farm Fridays are 2–2½ hour experiential field trips on our working regenerative ranch — where nature becomes the classroom. 🌿

Depending on the season and what’s happening on the ranch, kids may meet and learn about our animals, discover where food comes from, explore the land and water, look for wildlife, dig into soil and plants, and learn what stewardship looks like in real life.

🌿 𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆…

Four years ago, we packed up our entire house, our farm, and pretty much our whole life into a semi-truck trailer… and moved onto raw land.

No house.
No established farm.
No well.
No guarantees.

Just a piece of land, a vision, and a whole lot of faith. 🤎

𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀.

A life closer to the land, animals, nature, hard work, and the things that really matter. 🌲

So we took a leap of faith into the unknown.

⛺ We lived in a tent for two seasons.
🔥 Cooked over a fire.
💧 Hauled water and washed clothes with lake water.
🚿 We had no well for the first year.
🏡 And no home for the first two.

That first winter came fast. By November 10th, we had about a foot of snow, bitter cold, and wind that nearly blew the tent off its platform. ❄️💨

We headed into town for that winter, and by the next one, we were finally able to stay here in the home we had been building.

Along the way, family and community pitched in and helped us turn a vision into something real. ❤️

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. 🌿

Four years of building, raising animals, planting gardens, learning, failing, trying again, and slowly creating a life here.

We didn’t come because we wanted more things.

We came because we wanted a 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.

More connection.
More purpose.
More time outside.
More resilience.
More memories. 🌱

And we’re still building.
Still learning.
Still dreaming.

After a long walk exploring the woods yesterday I came home with some really beautiful pine pitch.

Nature always gives so freely.

🥣 𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦?

This is 𝗼𝘅𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 — one of those old-fashioned, nose-to-tail cuts that deserves way more love. 🤎

Cooked low and slow, it becomes incredibly rich, tender and flavourful, and all that connective tissue and collagen makes it perfect for hearty soups and broths. 🥕🧅🌿

For us, 𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 eating is about more than using every cut.

It’s about 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 🐂🤍

We put so much work, care and love into raising our animals, and I want to honour that by wasting as little as possible and learning to use the whole animal — just like generations before us did. 🌾

This oxtail has been slowly becoming the most beautiful soup. 🥣🔥

🦃 𝗧𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀 🦃

We have 2 young breeding trios available, each with:

✨ 1 tom
✨ 2 hens

Hatched May 5, 2026 and raised here on our ranch on 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗚𝗠𝗢, 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱. 🌾🌱

These birds are 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, are excellent foragers, and are friendly and easy to have around. 🌿 They spend their days out exploring, grazing and finding lots of their own food.

Mini Classics are a smaller-bodied turkey and are a great fit for anyone wanting to start their own breeding flock — whether you have a small homestead or lots of space.

A really nice option for someone wanting to raise their own turkeys naturally and keep a self-sustaining flock for the future. 🤍
