Tiny Tots Home Daycare

Thank you so much to all that have reached out, called, and/or messaged about care for their children. While I had a wonderful 6 years running a home daycare with some amazing children and families, this is not something I do any longer. I wish you the best of luck in finding care for your little ones. 💕

Another year has come and gone and my heart remains heavy as these 4 kiddos left my care today. Two of them have been with me since starting the daycare 5 years ago. I'll miss them all so much, but know we'll have frequent visits and I can't wait to hear about all the great things I know they'll do. Xoxo

The last couple of weeks! I haven't been nearly as good at taking photos this summer as I would like, but we've had a blast!!

Boys are so hilarious. There's two water tables and a pool and they choose to play in the dogs dish. 😂😂

One of my favourite books of all time is The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. The underlying message is about kindness, giving to others and surrounding yourself with people(fish) with similar moral attributes. In the story, The Rainbow Fish realizes that he was happier when he was able to give to others even if that meant he had less for himself in the end. It's a fantastic read that the children always enjoy. I try to bring it out at least once a year, and then we have a discussion and an activity or craft afterwards. This years craft was my favourite so far. It helped that the children were so into it! I started out by drawing the fish on thick white paper, then we brought out the blue water colours and each child painted. When it was dry they stamped rainbow scales on the body of the fish using bingo dabbers. We finished things off by gluing on the sparkly scales. When it's completely dry I'll add Popsicle sticks so it resembles a puppet that they can take home and reenact the story with. 😊

Our week!

A week of fun!!!!The park, the pool and the airshow from the playhouse. I love watching their faces as the airplanes fly overhead! So much excitement!

It's been an intense morning as we realized we lost one froglet to the carnivorous nature of the others, and as a result had to move them to yet another habitat where they have more space. They now live in what was formally known as our water table.😄 We've named one Stinker as he continues to climb the sides and attempt an escape. The kids are enjoying taking turns watching over him. Happy Friday everyone!

It's been a fun fun week! We finally got the Frog Literacy pack that I've had on hold at the library and have been doing the games and stories and songs inside of it. Our 7 tadpoles are changing quickly and in the last couple of days three of them have turned to frogs, causing the need to create a new habitat to accommodate their new found air breathing lungs! Today was the Teddy Bear Picnic and we had such a great time there. Faces were painted, mud was played in and emergency vehicles were rode in. We ended the morning with a trip to the pet store to get our new frogs some food and to observe the fish and other animals.

Now that the weather is consistently warm, we've been spending a lot of our days outside. Today we took a break from the outdoors and spent the morning at the library, and the afternoon crafting.
