⚾️ On this day in 1994…
At just 19 years old, Joe Young got the start for the Toronto Blue Jays in an exhibition game in Medicine Hat. He found himself sharing a clubhouse and field with players many baseball fans still remember today—Joe Carter, Roberto Alomar, John Olerud, Carlos Delgado, Devon White, and Pat Borders.
When asked about the experience, Joe said:
“I’m going to remember this day for a long time. It was the best experience of my life.”
Today, his focus isn’t on his own baseball career.
It’s on helping young athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and create memories of their own.
Because the lessons learned through baseball last far beyond the game itself.

Baseball connections run deep.
While getting Kaysen settled in Gastonia, NC for training, I reconnected with a former teammate from over 30 years ago from the Toronto Blue Jays organization — one of the good ones I never forgot.
A reminder that the relationships built through this game truly stand the test of time.
Grateful for the people baseball brings into our lives
- and for the village surrounding Kaysen on his journey.
