The SWITCH WITCH is back!🧙 If you are a parent to a child with diabetes, food allergies or just trying to avoid so much excess sugar this halloween, this is an idea for you. As parents, we want our daughter to enjoy the excitement and fun of Halloween without the downsides of consuming too much sugar. But we’ve always felt that restriction isn’t the answer either. So we’ve introduced a fun tradition called the Switch Witch that strikes a balance. After trick-or-treating, our daughter gets to choose a few of her favorite pieces of candy to keep. The rest is left at the front door overnight. During the night, the Switch Witch visits and exchanges the leftover candy for a small, special gift. This way, she still gets to experience the excitement of Halloween, while we ensure that the excess sugar doesn’t stick around to impact her health. This tradition has worked really well for us. It allows her to be part of the festivities, but it also aligns with our goal of keeping her healthy without feeling like she’s missing out. We love that it promotes balance—letting her enjoy the fun while helping us avoid the overindulgence that can sometimes come with the holiday. ⭐️ What to do with the Extra Candy?⭐️ We don’t believe in waste.
