As part of the Relay and Telecommunications team, the Protection and Control Technician is responsible for pre-commissioning, commissioning, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining NB Power's system relaying protection network used in the generation, transmission, and control of electrical power within the province and to interconnecting utilities.

Key functions include:

Commission, maintain, test, and calibrate system relaying equipment
Maintain up-to-date system relay engineering drawings and provide input and information necessary to ensure records and materials are kept up to date
Assess the impact of field work on the power system and coordinate with other work groups to facilitate energizing protection equipment
The ideal teammate will have:

Two-year Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma (or on track to graduate in June 2026)
