Try these suggestions to beat the Winter Blues this year! 👇

But first…”It's the most wonderful time of the yeaaar!” ⛄️🎄🎵

Well, minus the fact it's dark outside by 5pm! Im sure im not alone here! 😅

We still have over a week left of the days becoming shorter before they start getting longer which means we got quite some time to go before we have sunlight out past 5; this can easily cause us to get into a funk! 😴

Here are 7 ways to ensure you are getting enough Vitamin D, staying in high spirits and still being able to give yourself what your body needs in order to beat the Winter blues! ⤵️

1. Use a Sunlamp
2. Movement every day that you enjoy
3. Get enough Vitamin D3
4. Take up a new hobby you'd love to try!
5. Hot bath with Epsom salts 
7. Get fresh air! Yes, you can make winter outdoor play, fun!
8. Don't fight it- Rest when you need it!

When all else fails, make sure you are giving yourself what your body wants! Rest when your craving rest and get outside and breath in some fresh air when you need it!

By ensuring you are choosing activities and practices that make you happy and provide you energy, you will be ready to take the Winter head on!

Our thoughts play a critical role in our well-being but so do your feelings and beliefs!

Most people have a good idea of what important changes they would like to make in their lifestyle. It’s the power of habit is what keeps them stuck 🛑

Some habits are good for us! Some help us save time and energy while some old ingrained habits have a negative impact on up levelling our overall well-being.

Habit change is not an over night fix, it’s a process! ⤵️

1️⃣Behaviour: Transformational work must begin at the behaviour level. Start with simple behavioural changes around your lifestyle (food, exercise, routine).

2️⃣Beliefs: The stories you’ve been telling yourself about your lifestyle and capabilities are made up of beliefs that come from your early programming.

3️⃣Identity: Your early programming also determines your identity. Who you are being = what your body is doing. This is where the deepest transformation happens.

If you’re looking to level up your lifestyle and kick old negative habits to the curb, start with stepping back and identifying what your self-defeating habits are! 🤔

Begin with practical, small and simple changes. As I like to tell clients, don’t try to chew the whole elephant off in one bite, focus on the small, bite sized chunks at a time🐘

Keep things balanced with today’s intention word…

Equanimity.

If I’m being honest, I came across this word while reading a couple months back and remember thinking…”what the heck does this exactly mean!?” 😅

After one quick google search of the definition, it resonated with me so much that I wrote out the word and definition and taped it to my computer where it’s in plain sight, everyday.

Equanimity is a gentle reminder that we have the choice on what we allow to disrupt our inner peace. When we get so called “triggered”….how long are we going to choose to remain in that state of stress?

When I stumbled across this word, I didn’t realize how much I needed to see it! So hoping by sharing it with y’all, it might also do the same🤍

Remember, inner peace always prevails 💖
