The new grass at the SBS Green Space is really coming along!

We were able to get fertilizer down—thank you so much to Synergy Ag for generously donating the fertilizer! We’ve also completed our first cut. A big thank you to Rylan Piatt for taking care of that!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll gradually transition to less frequent watering and more regular mowing as the grass continues to establish and grow.

A huge thank you once again to all of our amazing volunteers who have been helping with the watering. Your time and dedication are making such a difference! 💚
And a special shout-out to Alan Carfantan for generously donating the gas for the pump! 🙂 We truly appreciate your support!

UPDATE ON THE SBS GREENSPACE… IT’S GETTING GREEN!!!! 🌱

Our Greenspace is really starting to come to life! 💚
The field has been getting watered three times a day by our amazing volunteers — Roger Lefebvre, Norbert Piatt, Tate Johnson, Mike Warnecke, Rylan Piatt, and Michelle Piatt. We are incredibly grateful for the time and dedication they have put in to ensure our new grass is getting the water it needs to grow and thrive.

A huge thank you as well to Craig Fagnou and Curtis de Gooijer, who have been keeping our water tanks full and making sure we have a steady supply of water for irrigation.

This incredible effort has definitely not gone unnoticed, and we truly can’t thank all of you enough for giving your time and energy to help make this project a success. It takes a community to make something like this happen, and we are so lucky to have such amazing volunteers behind us! 🙌

And just look at that growth in the last picture! 😍🌱 The results are unbelievable!

Keep growing, soon we will be doing our first cut on it!

Watering of our newly planted grass seed is now underway three times a day! Thank you to Chad Daubenfeld, Roger Lefebvre and Craig Fagnou for getting this job done. The seed must remain damp for the first 4 weeks.

A huge thank you to 1st Choice Graphics for generously donating the signage around the field.

Please help give our new grass the best chance to thrive by staying off the field while it gets established. Your patience and support will go a long way in helping this project!

We have two Educational Assistant positions open for the 2026-2027 school year - one full time position and one half time position.

As an EA you will be providing academic, developmental and social support for students with academic and behavioral issues

Qualifications
*Experienced and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with academic and behavioral issues
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills are perceived as definite assets in this assignment
*Possess a valid driver's license (so that transportation for students with diverse needs can be accommodated where needed

Friday, July 10th marks a massive milestone! After weeks of hard work and preparation, our grass seed has officially been delivered and spread across the entire field, thanks to the amazing team at Soilex!

We are absolutely thrilled to watch this space transform and come to life over the next few weeks.
To give our new field the absolute best start, we kindly ask that everyone please stay off the grass this summer. With your help, we’ll be fully rooted and ready to kick off football season this fall!

A massive shoutout and thank you to all the incredible volunteers who poured their time and energy into preparing the space for this next phase. We couldn't have done it without you!

Shoutout to the amazing students who helped Mr. Johnson and Mr. Daubenfeld install our new sprinkler system on Thursday, July 9th! 💦
This system is vital for our Greenspace Upgrade. Having this system ready means that when the grass seed goes down, it will get the watering it needs to take root.
