🏆YOUR 2026 EAGLE CUP CHAMPIONS : THE PINK PANTHERS🏆

After an intense 6–2 championship thriller, the Pink Panthers have officially been crowned NMR Eagle Cup Champions! They will now have the opportunity to challenge the Neil M. Ross Staff this Friday in a fun, all-star exhibition game! 🏒🔥

Congratulations as well to the incredible runners-up, The Bananas Are Tuff, who battled all tournament long and earned their spot in the finals. 🍌💪

What started as an idea turned into something much bigger than expected… With 90+ Grade 5 & 6 students participating across 8 teams, the Eagle Cup has become the largest in-house floor hockey tournament in our GSACRD Division, and the energy all month was electric.

A huge thank you to:
- Every student who signed up and participated
- Teachers who volunteered time and helped make this happen
- Everyone who cheered from the sidelines

This tournament was built on sportsmanship, school spirit, and a whole lot of fun.

Congratulations again to THE PINK PANTHERS, your names are forever on the Eagle Cup. 🦅🏆

📚 NOMINATE A GSACRD READING CHAMPION! ☀️

At GSACRD, we believe strong literacy skills help students build confidence, develop a love of learning, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Students who have participated in GSACRD’s literacy intervention programming have demonstrated remarkable growth in both their reading skills and confidence as learners.

This summer, we want to celebrate the people who help inspire a love of reading every day in our school communities.

➡️ Nominate a GSACRD Reading Champion — a teacher, educational assistant, librarian, staff member, student, class, or family member who has helped inspire a love of reading — and tell us why!

Winners will be selected from nominations across multiple age groups and schools.

Congratulations to Nikolina Pavicic, Vice Principal at Neil M Ross Catholic School, on receiving the 2026 Excellence in Catholic Education Award presented by the Council of Catholic School Superintendents of Alberta (CCSSA)! 🎉

This award recognizes educators who have made extraordinary contributions to the formation of students in Catholic schools through their faith, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Nikolina’s dedication to students, staff, and Catholic education is felt throughout the Neil M. Ross community each and every day. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the care, compassion, and leadership she brings to our division.

The CCSSA proudly presented the 2026 Excellence in Catholic Education Awards during this year’s SPICE & Blueprints Retreat Banquet, honouring educators who continue to strengthen the mission of Catholic education across Alberta.
