🍎✨ Happy World Teachers’ Day! ✨🍎

Today, we celebrated the incredible teachers who make our school such a special place! ❤️ Each of our teachers brings something unique to our school community, and we took some time to celebrate the qualities that make each one of them so special.

From their patience and creativity to their humour, kindness, dedication, and passion for their students, each teacher received a special award that captured just what makes them them! 🏆

… it was also dress as a book character day in case you’re wondering! 🤔

Yesterday, our school community came together to honour Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.🧡

Students proudly wore their orange shirts as a reminder that every child matters. In the afternoon, we gathered as a school community to participate in a Four Directions Prayer, taking time to reflect, listen, and remember.

Following our prayer, students headed outside in mixed-grade groups to learn and participate in a variety of traditional Indigenous games. It was a meaningful afternoon filled with learning, connection, movement, and community.🧡

Last week, we were honoured to welcome some very special guests to our school! A huge thank you to the LaChance brothers from Mikisew Cree First Nation, members of the Running Thunder Dancers, as well as Monty from Sunchild First Nation, for sharing their culture, stories, music, and traditions with our students and staff.

Our guests drummed, danced, and shared meaningful stories with us. Students were also given the opportunity to join in the dancing, and our entire school community came together to participate in a beautiful Round Dance. ❤️

Thank you for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students and for helping us learn, celebrate, and grow together. We are so grateful for your time and for everything you shared with our school community!🥁
