After settling into the office, the MASU team hit the road, attending conferences across the country. Swipe for a photo recap and read about the team’s experience below:

The Executive team attended the Maritime Student Congress in Antigonish at the St. Francis Xavier campus. This conference was dedicated to connecting with other maritime student unions, advocating on student issues, initiating dialogue on solutions and collaboration between campuses, and learning about student leadership.

President Kassandra Vail and Vice President, External Affairs, Will Stott attended the CASA Foundations and Policy & Strategy conferences in Ottawa in May and June. These conferences enabled MASU to bring forward key student priorities to the federal sphere, acted as an opportunity to prepare for Advocacy Week in November, and provided valuable experience in policymaking, lobbying, and meeting with key stakeholders who help shape Post-Secondary Education in Canada.

The Director of Entertainment and Activities, Ava Horwood, and the Orientation Chair, Katie Canning, attended the COCA conference in Saskatchewan. This conference was dedicated to connecting with schools of a similar size across Canada to discuss campus entertainment and how we can provide the best events possible for all of you!

These conferences were invaluable opportunities for the MASU Executive and Leadership Team, and we would like to thank everyone who made the experiences possible ( s, A, )! We are so excited to bring what we learned to MtA to benefit all MASU members (you!).
