Bridge pins hold the ball end of each guitar string securely inside the bridge. They may look small, but they play an important role in keeping your strings properly seated and your guitar playing its best.

Tip: If you lose a bridge pin, make sure you have a few spares.

Guitar Tip — Progress Isn’t Always Obvious 🎸

One of the hardest parts of learning guitar is realizing that progress doesn’t always happen overnight.

Sometimes you’re working hard but don’t feel like you’re getting better. Keep going. The small improvements you make every day eventually add up to something big.

Don’t judge your progress from one practice session—look back over weeks and months and see how far you’ve come.

Stay patient. Keep practicing. Keep playing. 🎸

Guitar Tip Of The Day: Try singing along with the songs you are learning to strum. Lyric sheets with the chord changes written over the lyrics is a great way to start.

A great tip for all skill levels. Using the tips of your fingers will help you get the cleanest sound. Many students will complain of a “twang sound” That comes from not pushing hard enough on the strings and not being up your finger tips high enough. This is most obvious when playing chords.

Make you sure you have a spare set of strings for the weekend. I always recommend daddario strings. 10 gauge for electric and 12 for acoustic is my own personal preference. But it’s great to experiment with all brands and gauges.

I always get all my students to practice with the songs they are learning. It makes practicing fun and builds a strong sense of feel and timing.
