Tender Tots Childcare Facility

The Butterflies Class had lots of fun learning about bees! We explored these little insects through a variety of art activities and hands-on Tuff Tray experiences crafted by Maryam. Through sensory play with rice we had fun scooping, sorting, counting and learning all about bees. What will we learn all about next? 🦋

Our Ladybug class had so much fun creating something special for our schoolyard! Rocks were collected and we used our creativity to paint them in bright, colorful designs, adding happy faces, googly eyes and lots of personality…..glitter. The children decided to call their creations “Rock Buddies.” Once our rocks were finished, we placed them around our big maple tree in our schoolyard for everyone to enjoy. The children were so proud to see their little Rock Buddies outside, ready to bring smiles to anyone who discovers them. This experience encouraged creativity, teamwork, and a sense of belonging as the Ladybugs worked together to make our outdoor space a little more joyful.

Fun in the Jungle Room!
Lately, we’ve been learning all about land animals! The children made their own binoculars using paper towel rolls and paint before heading off on a safari around the room to find the animals they chose.
We also enjoyed a fun Show and Tell, where the children brought in special toys from home to share with their friends.
To top it all off, we spent a wonderful day at our director’s house enjoying the slip and slide, playset, ice cream sandwiches, and music!
We’ve been having a fun-filled time lately of learning, exploring, and making memories!

WHAT A ROAR-SOME WEEK FOR OUR BABY BEARS!
This week, our Baby Bears enjoyed digging, scooping, and discovering treasures in our sensory sand with seashells, rocks, and dinosaurs. They also became brave dinosaur rescuers, working together to free dinosaurs trapped inside colourful icebergs!
We were excited to have some of our friends from the Little Stars class join us for the icy rescue adventure. To wrap up the week, we explored our light board with colourful blocks, discovering how stacking different colours created brand-new ones.
A week full of curiosity, teamwork, laughter, and hands-on learning!"

When its too hot to go outside for water play, we bring the fun inside instead! We fill our Tuff Tray with water and added rubber duckies, boats, and floating shapes for the Little Stars to explore. They are so excited to splash, play, and watch the toys float around. There is lots of laughing, splashing, and happy faces as everyone enjoys cooling off together indoors.

Tender Tots Childcare Facility has a couple of spaces in our 3 year old and 4 year old classes. The fee for these spots is $80/week. We also offer an optional meal plan that includes two healthy snacks and one healthy homemade lunch daily. The Bees have had so much fun so far this summer: Tie Dying, Park Days, going to the Splash Pad and even taking a bus to Meenan’s Cove. Choruses of “This is the Best Day Ever” could be heard as each day ended.

The Bees cannot wait to see what fun they get up to in August!

The Baby Bears have been enjoying our Water Theme activities all month long, and the highlight was our exciting Foam and Splash Pad Party! The children cooled off as they splashed through the bubbles, slid into the water, filled their cups from the sprinkler, and carefully carried the water to the buckets before heading back for more. This fun-filled sensory experience supported fine and gross motor skills, balance, coordination, problem-solving, and early science and math concepts. Best of all, they strengthened their social skills by playing alongside friends, sharing materials, and creating wonderful memories together. It was the perfect way to learn through play while enjoying a beautiful sunny day!
