We're very excited to be able to offer Indigenous events for free or by donation in 2023 and beyond! We'll be launching dates soon for the coming year, starting with a potluck, drum circle and erecting a tipi in Elder Vern's honour.

Azhen Sanctuary, co-founded by Jaymie Friesen, is a 160 acre Indigenous-owned sanctuary, retreat space and land regeneration project in Rock Creek, B.C., just one and a half hours south of Kelowna.

We started a 160 acre off grid sanctuary because we saw rising housing costs, mental health issues, toxins being sprayed on our food, environmental issues and soil degradation, not to mention crazy politics.

We wanted to create a better way of living.

Now we teach others about sustainable living and how to build their own self sufficient homesteads, retreat centres, regenerative farms, and communities.

We're building an agile content team to help us increase our awareness across major social platforms to 2 million followers in the next 12 months.

This is what the off-grid dream looked like for us in the last year, and why it's so important to us that we're able to help others do the same. Personally, I think it just makes sense... we've had a stronger sense of community, we've eaten better, we're healthier, we're making more money, we have more time for fun, and we're happier than we've ever been. Everyone deserves to have their own place and live a good life. THAT is getting harder. But there's still a way! If you've ever wanted to just own some acreage with friends and live happily ever after, maybe start a retreat centre, or regenerative farm, garden or homestead... we'd love to hear about your vision and see how we can help if it aligns with you.
