Acorn to Oak: Nature Based Learning

Another 4 weeks of BAREFOOT BUDDIES summer camp in the books!!

Lots of memories made!!

Maybe the children will remember the 42 American toads found in one afternoon, or our first spotted salamander?

Maybe their fondest memory will be the bubble machine, running barefoot, hours of laughter or our afternoon ice creams. Or perhaps our first sleepover!!

Where has the summer gone? It is flying by so fast!!!

I am going to enjoy every last minute of these next two weeks, trying my best to provide ‘a summer like the 1980’s’ where PLAY was always at the core.♥️

A couple more fun weeks at BAREFOOT BUDDIES summer camp!!

Some highlights were finding critters, dancing in the rain, relaxing on the hammocks and spying on the girls!!

Taking the afternoon to rest up for another busy week ahead!!

BAREFOOT BUDDIES is under way!! Definitely an exciting time of the year spending full days outside PLAYING!!!

It was a week of mixed weather but we still had lots of fun!!

Our first ever talent show didn’t disappoint and we found lots of little critters to take care of.

I wonder what this upcoming week will bring?

What an amazing spring!!!

The weather and insects have definitely been a challenge but we persevered!!

So many memories made thanks to all the families who have attended my outdoor nature play programs!!

An amazing afternoon presenting to public school teachers about the MANY benefits of PLAY!!!

Hopefully I inspired at least one teacher to; read one more book, listen to another podcast, increase the amount of play time their students have each day or start their very own Forest Kindergarten!!!

We have a moral obligation as educators and parents to do better when we know the research.

I know I have missed these deep discussions these past 4 years as an entrepreneur and forging a new path on my own.
