Let’s welcome Lily Yi, our student practicum volunteer from SFU 🎉
She is commited to 80 volunteer hours at RMS this term.

The Richmond Music School (RMS) Student Practicum Program offers students practical experience in various aspects of office operations under the guidance of school management.
As a community partner of Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts (SFU SCA) Internship Program, RMS provides practicum placements that enable students to earn academic course credit for their contributions.

“Hi everyone! My name is Lily, and I am a fourth-year student at Simon Fraser University, majoring in Cinema Studies. I have always been interested in music and enjoy exploring different types of music in my free time. Singing is one of my hobbies, and I also love listening to pop music, especially Chinese pop songs. Since I grew up listening to Chinese music, it has always been a big part of my life. I also enjoy listening to English pop music and discovering new artists and songs. I am very happy to be a student practicum volunteer at Richmond Music School and look forward to meeting everyone and learning more about music!”

We’re excited to share that we’ve received 5 pairs of tickets for Bruno Mars: The Romantic Tour at BC Place on Friday, October 16, 2026 (Night 2)

A huge thank you to PavCo and BC Place BC Place for generously providing these tickets for this fundraising event!

🎟️ $800 per pair
🧾 Charitable tax receipt available for $170 per pair, in accordance with CRA guidelines based on the eligible donation amount above the fair market value of the tickets.

All proceeds will support Richmond Music School’s Senior Music Making Program and help us continue providing accessible music-making opportunities for seniors in our community.

There are only 5 pairs available— first come, first serve.

We’re looking for Drums, Violin, Cello, Guitar, Saxophone, and ECE Music Teachers.

Qualifications: Must be physically in the Lower Mainland, holding a post-secondary degree (music or music education).
ARCT, ARSM, ATCL performance degree holders may be considered.
