As a bonus performance… 🎹✨
The recital concluded with Rhapsody in G minor, Op. 79 No. 2 by Johannes Brahms, bringing the evening to an energetic and expressive close.
Built on contrast, drive, and intensity, the piece unfolded in waves of tension and release, showcasing the character and scope of the work.
As teacher and studio director, it was shared as part of the evening’s musical journey, as an example to inspire students in their own musical development and performance goals.
A wonderful recital from all students, with great preparation, focus, and musical growth throughout the program.

🎹 Meira and Kiana performed a duet featuring:
1. Russian Folksong
2. O! Susanna
This was their first time performing together as a piano duet, and they did a wonderful job learning how to listen to each other, stay in sync, and perform as an ensemble.
They explored contrasting characters between the two pieces—one lyrical and calm, the other bright and playful—while building coordination, timing, and musical communication at the piano.
Great work to both students, and hopefully we’ll get to hear more of them playing together in future performances!
🎹 Congratulations to Olivia Yang on a beautiful recital performance!
Olivia performed three pieces in this program:
1. I Spy
2. Atacama Desert
3. Mazurka for Chopin
She gave a confident and expressive performance, showing clear growth in both musical maturity and technical control. I Spy was delivered with clarity and energy, while Atacama Desert highlighted her ability to create vivid tone color and atmosphere. In Mazurka for Chopin, Olivia demonstrated a more refined sense of phrasing and musical sensitivity, revealing her developing artistic voice.
It is especially rewarding to see how she has grown as a pianist. Her presence at the piano is becoming more natural and fluid, reflecting a young musician who is steadily blossoming into her own style.
A thoughtful and well-prepared performance—well done, Olivia! 👏🎶
🎹 Congratulations to Mia on her first piano recital performance!
For her debut recital, Mia performed:
1. Homecoming
2. A Whole New World
Mia performed both pieces entirely from memory, a wonderful achievement for a first performance. Homecoming is especially unique, as it is based on the Samsung alarm ringtone everyone knows and transformed into a creative piano arrangement. She also brought the magic and lyricism of A Whole New World to the stage.
A first recital takes courage, preparation, and dedication, and Mia did a fantastic job sharing her music with the audience. We are proud of the hard work she put into preparing these pieces and reaching this important milestone.
