🇨🇦 Official Announcement | 2026 Pan-American Dragon & Lion Dance Judging Course
Registration is now open for the 2026 Pan-American Dragon & Lion Dance Judging Course, taking place in Edmonton, Alberta, from August 19–21, 2026.
Hosted by the Canada Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association (CDLDSA) in collaboration with CTC Edmonton, this prestigious international course will bring together participants from across the Americas.
Led by Master Siow Ho Phiew and Master Tang Puay Seng from Malaysia, together with Ms. Wang Yu and an official delegation from the Chinese Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association, participants will receive world-class instruction in:
- Traditional Southern Lion Dance
- High Pole Lion Dance
- Dragon Dance
- Northern Lion Dance
- Competition rules, judging methodology, ethics, and practical evaluation
Join us this August as we continue developing the next generation of certified judges across the Pan-American region.

🇨🇦 2026 Canada National Lion Dance Championship 🇨🇦
The Canada Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association (CDLDSA) is pleased to announce that the 2026 Canada National Lion Dance Championship will be held on August 21-22, 2026, at Kinistinâw Park in Edmonton, Alberta.
We invite Lion Dance teams from across Canada to join us for a weekend of competition, friendship, and cultural exchange. Whether your team is returning to the national stage or participating for the first time, we look forward to celebrating your hard work, dedication, and passion for Lion Dance.
Together, let's continue to support one another and help preserve and grow the art of Dragon & Lion Dance in Canada.
Competition Divisions:
• Youth Division - 16 years and under
• Open Division - 17 years and over
Our sincere thanks to Wushu Canada and the Chinatown Transformation Collaborative for their valued collaboration and support in making this event possible.

Our team was proud to participate in Richmond's Canada Day celebrations and Canada Day Drumming, joining drummers from across the country in the Simultaneous Drumming Across Canada.
It was an incredible day celebrating Canada's diversity, culture, and community through the power of traditional drumming.
