We were so honoured to be a part of the official Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for our new playground in the beautiful sunshine yesterday morning. Thank you to Mrs. Kusch for planning such a lovely event. THANK YOU again to ALL the Quilchena families, alumni, staff and community members for supporting our fundraising efforts over the years and to Dave and his team at Habitat for helping to make this dream come true for our school. We are so excited about this new play space that will be enjoyed by children at our school and in the neighborhood for years to come.

Front row: Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Kusch and Ms. Powell were all present to cut the ribbon! ❤️

Back row: Ivan (PAC Chair), Brent (PAC Playground Committee Coordinator), Angela and Chris Dinnell (Quilchena alumni and Community Supporters), Alia (PAC Treasurer), Heather Larson (Vice-Chair, Board of Education), Susan (PAC Secretary) and Lana (PAC Fundraising Coordinator)

By popular demand, we are once again selling Gift Cards as a fundraiser! These are just like the gift cards you can buy at your favourite stores and local grocery/drug store. They are the EXACT SAME PRICE. The PAC earns a rebate on all gift card purchases.
If you buy these regularly, why not buy them directly through the PAC and help raise funds for Quilchena? These also make great gifts. You can buy them and in turn go to the store and buy a gift for someone else! Or you can use them for yourself and your family - buy groceries, go to the movies, go out for dinner, the possibilities are endless!

All the money raised from this fundraiser will be used to support our students (things like: Bollywood dancing, ice skating, field trip subsidies, just to name a few).

Due to Covid-19 precautions, we will not be sending paper order forms home.

Orders will need to be placed online AND immediate payment must be made via E-transfer to [email protected]

To order online, you will need to register one time only, as an individual shopper at www.shopfunds.ca. Please see attached instructions on how to “Register as a Shopper”.

Online orders must be submitted by Sat Nov 20, 2021. We hope to have the orders back to the school and ready for delivery by Dec 1.

Thank you in advance for supporting our fundraising efforts!

Did you know that November 13th is World Kindness Day?

The Dinnell Real Estate Group is happy to announce that we are doing our part by hosting a MEN'S CLOTHING DRIVE for our local Richmond shelter.

Facts:

1. This temporary low barrier shelter has been extended to stay open due to the dire need of this location, they were supposed to be shut down but have been granted another winter to serve our most vulnerable citizens.

2. The shelter has 60 beds, almost at full capacity for this winter.

3. The shelter is mostly occupied by males.

4. The shelter has no inventory in the clothing department to offer to their male clients.

5. Since opening this shelter in May of 2020, they have had over 200 vulnerable clients come to them in need.

6. We can help.

On November 13th from 1-4pm we will set up a tent at Quilchena Elementary for you to come and drop off your MEN'S clothing donations! Coffee and donuts will be offered to you for your generosity. If you could wash the garments prior to drop off, that would be greatly appreciated! No donation is too big or too small!

All MEN'S clothing sizes are needed!

Here is what the local shelter management told us that they need:

Winter coats, scarves, gloves, sweatpants, hoodies, t shirts, etc. They are strictly asking for men's clothing at this time. If you would like to purchase NEW socks and NEW underwear, they would also be grateful to accept those donations.

They do not accept cash donations, and do not need any toiletries at this time.

Please help us help our city's most vulnerable men this November 13th on World Kindness Day!

Quilchena Elementary School is located at: 3760 Moresby Drive, Richmond.

If you can not make it to our event, but would like to participate in a donation of clothing we will come and pick it up from you. Please get in touch with us, [email protected] or call 604-961-5860, or simply send us a DM!

We hope to see you out on World Kindness Day, November 13th from 1-4pm
