This year we ran a summer camp exploring animals that inspired the Wing Chun fighting style - BIRDS!
Drawing on his extensive experience working in bird conservation and research, Sifu Chung led the kids on an exploration of the birds that inhabit our beautiful city.
Equipped with clipboards, binoculars, and bird books, we went on bird watching adventures around Garden City Lands, Richmond Minoru Park, and the Bloedel Conservatory to take a closer look at our feathery friends.
Bird week was such a fun and educational experience for both sifus and students alike. It gave us a fresh opportunity to connect our Wing Chun learning to the natural environment; and to zoom in on the diversity of life that literally flies “over” our radar every day!
