๐ŸŒŸ Learning together. Growing together. Strengthening UCMAS across BC!

Yesterday, 50+ UCMAS Course Instructors from across British Columbia came together in Richmond for our NCTS sessionโ€”a day of connection, learning and sharing ideas to bring the best out of every student.

๐Ÿค We kicked off with a fun โ€œEveryoneโ€ฆโ€ icebreaker, where instructors discovered things they had in commonโ€”from enjoying travel to loving sunny weather! A great way to connect with colleagues across centres.

๐Ÿงฎ Our Course Instructor refresher reinforced the foundations of effective UCMAS teaching, including correct finger movements, formula practice, listening skills and mental visualization.

๐Ÿ’ก Through interactive case studies, instructors discussed real classroom challenges and practical solutions: supporting individual learners, building speed gradually, encouraging consistent practice and working closely with parents.

Every discussion shared one goal: helping our students develop stronger skills, greater confidence, focus and concentration.

๐Ÿ† We also recognized and awarded our Course Instructors for their outstanding performance and dedication throughout the year

A heartfelt thank you to all our instructors and centre managers for your participation, ideas and commitment. The care you bring to your classrooms makes a differenceโ€”and investing in our instructors means investing in our childrenโ€™s success. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ **50+ INSTRUCTORS. MULTIPLE CENTRES. ONE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE.** ๐ŸŒŸ

On **September 30**, UCMAS Course Instructors from across British Columbia will come together for our **NCTS โ€“ National Course Instructor Training & Standardization assessment**.

NCTS is much more than a recertification assessment. It is a day of **learning, professional development, connection and renewal** โ€” ensuring that our instructors continue to deliver the UCMAS program with confidence, consistency and the highest teaching standards.

๐Ÿงฎ **Instructors will be assessed on:**
๐Ÿ”น Visual Abacus skills based on their trained level
๐Ÿ”น Program knowledge through an Objective Assessment
๐Ÿ”น Current UCMAS teaching standards and concepts

But perhaps the most valuable part of the day is bringing together **50+ UCMAS Course Instructors from different centres** โ€” sharing experiences, learning from one another and strengthening the community behind our classrooms.

Why does this matter?

Because maintaining high standards among our instructors ultimately means a **better and more consistent learning experience for every UCMAS student.**

๐Ÿ’™ **Better-trained instructors. Stronger standards. Better outcomes for our children.**

๐Ÿ“… **Wednesday, September 30, 2026**
โฐ **10:00 AM โ€“ 1:00 PM**
๐Ÿ“ **City Centre Community Centre โ€“ Multipurpose Room 4, Richmond**

**Together, we continue to raise the standard of UCMAS instruction across British Columbia.**
