Sports Day at RJDS was all about giving it your all, cheering each other on, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

From the first race to the final cheer, our students brought incredible energy, determination, and team spirit to every event. A day of movement, laughter, friendly competition, and unforgettable school spirit.

Thank you to our donors, families, players, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped bring this event to life both on and off the court.

From organizing and setup to registration, gameplay, food, and behind-the-scenes coordination, so many people came together to make this day a success. We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time, energy, and support.

Because of this incredible effort, funds were raised in support of our STEM program, helping to enhance learning opportunities and resources for our students.

A special thank you to ORT Canada for their partnership and continued support, and to our wider community for showing up in such meaningful ways.

Today was a celebration of how far our students have come, and of everything it took to get here.

From their earliest days at RJDS to this milestone moment, we’ve had the privilege of watching them grow in ways that go far beyond academics. They’ve developed confidence, resilience, kindness, curiosity, and a strong sense of who they are becoming. Each stage of their journey has added something meaningful to their character, and seeing them now feels like witnessing that growth come full circle.

What makes this moment so special is not just the ceremony itself, but the people standing in it. The friendships, the learning, the challenges, the laughter, and the everyday moments in between have all shaped them into the graduates we celebrated today.

We are deeply proud of each of them, not only for what they have accomplished, but for the thoughtful, capable, and compassionate individuals they have become. They leave us ready for what is next, carrying with them everything they’ve built here.

And while this chapter closes, RJDS will always remain a place that holds them close. A place that celebrates who they were here, and who they continue to become. They will always have a home here, and we will always be cheering them on from here.

One of the most meaningful lessons we can teach is that community is something we create together.
Our Community Kabbalat Shabbat gave students the opportunity to step into that lesson by welcoming guests, sharing traditions, and helping create an environment where people felt seen, valued, and connected.

Rooted in the spirit of Shabbat, the afternoon reminded us of the importance of pausing, gathering, and strengthening the relationships that sustain us.

Through prayer, song, conversation, and hospitality, students experienced how Jewish values come to life not only in what we learn, but in how we care for one another.

Somehow, one school year can feel both incredibly long and far too short.

Over the past year, Noa and Gur became familiar faces in our hallways, classrooms, celebrations, and Food Lab sessions. They helped bring Israel closer to our students through stories, traditions, holidays, and everyday conversations, creating meaningful connections that extended far beyond the classroom.

Whether they were whipping up something delicious in Food Lab, or jumping into school life wherever they were needed, Noa and Gur brought enthusiasm, care, and a willingness to get involved.

While we’ll miss seeing them around RJDS, we’re grateful for the memories, laughter, and experiences they helped create along the way.

What can a small seedling teach us about community?

As part of Jewish Heritage Month, RJDS alumni parent Shay Keil visited our students to share a powerful lesson about giving back. Through the story of planting a small seedling in his youth, Shay reflected on how one simple act became the beginning of a lifelong commitment to volunteering, leadership, and community involvement.

His message reminded students that making a difference does not always begin with a grand gesture. Sometimes, it starts with a single action, a willingness to help, or a decision to get involved.

Thank you, Shay, for inspiring our students to think about the many ways they can contribute to and strengthen the Jewish community, both today and in the years to come.
