There was a time when Professor Jacob Tsimerman was simply a child learning numbers.

He wasn’t holding the Fields Medal—often called the “Nobel Prize of Mathematics.” He was just another young student, developing curiosity, solving problems, making mistakes, and discovering the joy of mathematics.

Today, he has become the first scholar based at a Canadian university (UofT) to receive the Fields Medal, one of the highest honours in mathematics. 🇨🇦🏅
