K4 Fairy House Project
Earlier this year, the K4 classes visited Park Gouin, where the students discovered a collection of fairy houses. They were absolutely mesmerized by them and spent so much time using their imaginations to create stories and adventures around what they saw. Seeing their excitement sparked a conversation among the K4 teachers about how wonderful it would be to have something similar at St. Francis.

We began looking into how we could make this happen and were fortunate to connect with Nick Couture from Coutures Timber Mart, who generously donated the fairy houses to our school. We waited for the arrival of the warmer weather before installing them, and they are now ready for the students to enjoy.

We hope these fairy houses will inspire creativity, imaginative play, storytelling, and a sense of wonder for all of our students. They are welcome to explore, imagine, and get lost in their own little fairyland right here at St. Francis.

We are incredibly grateful to Nick Couture and Coutures Timber Mart for helping bring this special project to life!

St. Francis was so proud to have been a part of this winning project! 🏆 The trips taken by Mr. Nick’s and Ms. Scoble’s classes to RRHS’ Senior Wellness Wednesdays to create greeting cards was recognized and awarded a special grant. 🎉💌

They celebrated today with a pizza lunch, bingo, and outdoor activities with some special guests! 🍕🎰☀️🎪 Photos of today’s intergenerational celebration will be coming soon! 📸✨

On Thursday last week students at St. Francis were treated to special hot breakfast sandwiches as part of the breakfast program. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for making the sandwiches and to La Bouchère du village for donating the sliced ham. What a special way to start the day! 🙂

Student Council and I would like to inform you that we have completed the last sorting and photo taking for the St. Francis Lost and Found this year. Feel free to share this with your students. The Lost & Found area is full, there are no hangers left and there is hardly any room left in the bins. Here is the link to our digital lost and found folder. Please ask your child to claim their item(s) on their way out to recess or feel free to visit after school to pick them up yourself (must sign in with the secretary). All items that are not claimed by June 22nd will be donated to local organizations as we can not store these lost items over the summer.

Last Thursday the school was off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Approximately 60 dedicated students worked together since November to put on The Wizard of Oz. It involved a lot of dedication, perseverance and memorization from all of the actors involved. The students transformed the gym and stage into this magical land for an afternoon dress rehearsal for the staff and students of St. Francis to watch. Parents, families and friends were then invited to watch the final show that evening. A huge thank you to everyone who helped send everyone off to see the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

We will recognize International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 19 (the true date is May 17 but it was a holiday) by wearing purple.

As we mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, we recognize this day for its promotion of equality, social justice, rights and dignity for all people. We acknowledge that today is a day all people have the right to live free from violence, discrimination and coercion.

It is a day about kindness, respect, and making sure everyone feels safe and included, no matter who they are or who they love.
