Terra Early Learning Terra Early Learning is an innovative early learning centre with a progressive educational approach.

Grounded in a foundation of sustainable development, our unique integrated curriculum includes outdoor learning, Montessori, inquiry-based, and play-based learning. Our program is tailored to the individual needs of students with an intentional focus on children’s social-emotional development, health, and well-being. Students and educators alike work together to contribute to a global community in ways that are engaging, authentic, and experiential. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Terra Early Learning! 🧡

For us, Thanksgiving is more than just a seasonal holiday; it’s a moment to reflect on community, kindness, and connection. We believe that the best way to show gratitude is through action, by holding space for one another and giving back to the community that supports us every day. 

Through our October focus on Food, Farming & Giving Back, our little learners are exploring what it truly means to be thankful and learning how simple acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone else’s life.

Calling all our wonderful Terra families! 🌾💚

We’d love to invite you to join us for this month’s Food Drive in support of the Richmond Food Bank Society! 

Inside our classrooms, our little ones are getting hands-on, counting, sorting, and packing donations themselves to learn the true joy of helping others. 

If you’re able to contribute, please drop off any non-perishable items at Terra by November 3rd: 

📦 Items Needed:
• Canned proteins, soups, fruits & veggies
• Baby food & diapers
• Ziploc bags

As autumn arrives, October brings meaningful moments for our children to explore, wonder, and connect. 🍂

This month, our learning journey centers around “Food, Farming & Giving Back”. From discovering how seeds grow to visiting the pumpkin patch, we’re inviting children to explore where our food comes from and how it brings us together.

To practice what we learn, we’re partnering with the Richmond Food Bank. Through hands-on collecting and sorting, our little ones experience the joy of sharing and supporting our community.

If you looked closely in the mirror, what would you see? 🪞🤍
This morning, our Seedlings 2 friends spent time simply looking at themselves. We talked about the unique color of our eyes, our hair, and all the tiny details that make us who we are. Then, with a bit of yarn, googly eyes, and endless imagination, they brought their own self-portraits to life!

For us at Terra, Belonging & Community is about teaching our children to embrace what makes them different, and knowing they have a special place in our classroom family just as they are. 🌿
