ICALC Learning Center is an international education and learning center founded by Christian scholars. We recruited an elite team of teachers who endeavours to foster academic and personal growth in our students. We provide quality tutoring for a range of subjects such as mathematics, computer and English. We are willing to use many years of teaching experience to lead students of all ages. We use fun scientific methods to increase the learning aptitude of our students; we inspiringly develop our students to think smarter through love. Our students will develop their problem-solving skills through solid and systematic training methods. We are committed to guiding students to start from the essence of knowledge and to understand knowledge from depth and breadth. Not only that, we will be imparting wisdom from Proverbs (from the Bible) to cultivate good and effective listening habits and a serious, diligent attitude in doing things. We encourage students to unite knowledge and action, develop good habits, and shape good characters. This year, our competition program is back with an upgraded format, led by Dr. Bolton and designed for students in Grades 7–12 (ages 13+).
Over just 4 weeks, students will develop and complete a polished, high-quality piece for submission — with expert guidance throughout the entire writing process:

◆ Developing original ideas & strengthening personal voice
◆ Creative writing strategies & practical writing tips
◆ Individualized feedback, revision & refinement
◆ Finalizing a competition-ready submission

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the longest-running and most prestigious programs for young artists and writers in the U.S., recognizing originality, skill, and personal voice.

Ages 10–14: Build Your Own AI App with Python in 8 Weeks!

Your child already knows how to use AI. Now it’s time to build with AI.
This fall, iCALC launches AI Makers Lab, a new hands-on project series for young creators.
Project 01: AI Study Buddy
Over 8 weeks, students will use Python to build a working AI-powered web app that can:
• Explain difficult concepts
• Summarize class notes
• Generate practice questions
• Give hints when they get stuck
• Test and evaluate AI responses
Students won’t just learn about AI — they’ll build, test, improve, and present a real AI project of their own.
The program wraps up with a Demo Day, where students present their finished AI apps to parents.

Can you believe this sci-fi novel was created by Grade 5–6 students?

Over several months, 9 students from iCALC’s L6 Writing Class worked together to turn what they learned in Narrative Writing into something much bigger than a classroom assignment — a complete English novel.
They wrote it as a collaborative relay: each student independently created different chapters while continuing the same storyline. They had to build on the characters and clues left by previous writers, move the plot forward, and add their own twists and suspense for the next writer to pick up.
The result is The Human Experiment – Project Aegis, an original sci-fi adventure about AI, survival, friendship, teamwork, and a mysterious experiment unfolding inside the students’ own familiar iCALC School.
And their story didn’t stay in the classroom.

The completed novel was officially published and released on Amazon this July — becoming the 9th original book by iCALC students to reach Amazon.
Now, we’re sharing the story with you chapter by chapter!
The journey begins with a mysterious message:
“LOCKDOWN PROTOCOL ACTIVATES AT 3:17 PM TOMORROW. PREPARE TO SURVIVE.”

10K, Two Podium Finishes, One Proud Father-Son Moment 🥈🥉

This morning, the 3rd Annual JFC Family Run brought families together at the beautiful French Royalist Park in Richmond Hill. As a proud sponsor, the iCALC team was excited to be there supporting our community and sharing such an energetic morning with runners of all ages.

With a 1K Kids Run, 5K Run/Walk, and 10K Run, the event was a wonderful celebration of healthy living, family, and community spirit, with special guests from different levels of government joining the festivities.

And for our principal, Dr. Li, today was extra special.

After speaking on behalf of iCALC, he traded the microphone for running shoes and took on the challenging 10K course with his son, Enoch. With plenty of hills along the way, it was no easy run—but father and son both made it to the podium! 🎉

For Dr. Li, though, the best part wasn’t the result:

iCALC 2026 AP Calculus Course | Get Ahead Before University

For students considering engineering, computer science, mathematics, business, or other quantitative fields, calculus is an essential part of the academic journey.

iCALC’s AP Calculus course systematically develops students’ understanding of limits, derivatives, integrals, related theorems, and applications, with pathways for both AP Calculus AB and BC.

Beyond AP exam preparation, the course helps students build a strong foundation for university-level mathematics and demonstrate their readiness to take on more academically challenging coursework.

Qualifying AP exam scores may also earn university credit, allow students to skip certain introductory courses, or provide placement into more advanced coursework, depending on the university and program.

AMC 12 to AIME: Take Competition Math to the Next Level

For strong competition math students, AMC 12 is not the finish line. It’s the gateway to more advanced mathematical problem solving—and potentially AIME.

iCALC’s Competition Math Level 6 | AMC 12 / AIME is a 19-week advanced program designed to help students make that transition.

The first stage focuses on key AMC 12 topics across algebra, geometry, number theory, counting and probability, with systematic practice using past contest problems to improve speed, accuracy, strategy, and problem-solving skills.

Students then progress to more advanced concepts and challenging multi-step problems, building the mathematical depth needed for future AIME-level competition.

Designed for students with a strong math foundation who want to:
• Strengthen AMC 12 performance
• Develop advanced competition problem-solving skills
• Build toward AIME-level mathematics

2026 HMMT | Train with iCALC. Compete at Harvard.

The Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) is one of the most challenging and well-known high school mathematics competitions in the U.S., bringing together strong young mathematicians for an exceptional competitive experience.

After successfully organizing HMMT training and teams in the past two years, iCALC is returning for HMMT 2026 — with opportunities for selected students to compete at Harvard on November 7.

This fall, iCALC Principal Dr. Li will lead an intensive 8-week HMMT Prep Program featuring high-level competition math training, team preparation, internal selection, and team formation for the official tournament.

Non-iCALC students are welcome to apply.
Recommended for students at iCALC Competition Math Level 4+ or equivalent, as well as advanced students studying Ontario Grade 12 contest mathematics — particularly those preparing for Waterloo Euclid or AMC 10/12.
Not sure about your current level? A complimentary iCALC math and contest-math placement assessment is available for non-iCALC students.

G9–10 CIMC Boot Camp | Your Bridge to Advanced Waterloo Math Contests

The Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest (CIMC), organized by the University of Waterloo’s CEMC, is an important step for students ready to move beyond routine contest problems toward deeper mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and complete written solutions.

iCALC’s G9–10 CIMC Boot Camp provides 10 weeks of focused preparation in:
Number Theory | Algebra | Geometry | Counting & Probability
Students will work with past contest problems, strengthen key concepts and strategies, and develop the reasoning skills needed for more challenging competition mathematics.
Beyond CIMC preparation, the course also provides a strong bridge toward higher-level Waterloo contests such as CSMC and Euclid.
