Building on iCALC’s existing Contest Math Levels 1–4, the new Enriched series is launching for the 2026–2027 school year, providing a more challenging and systematic pathway for students who are ready to take their competition math skills further.

From Gauss → Pascal/Cayley → Fermat/Hypatia → CSMC/Euclid, the Enriched series creates a structured, long-term pathway for students to progress through increasingly sophisticated mathematics and competition problem solving.

2026 G11 Fermat Boot Camp | Aim for High Distinctions | Registration Now Open🔥

The Fermat Contest, organized by the University of Waterloo, is an important mathematics competition for Grade 11 students. It challenges students to think beyond routine classroom problems and develop stronger logical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking.
iCALC’s G11 Fermat Boot Camp provides systematic preparation for students who already have a solid math foundation and want to aim higher.

2026 AMC 10/12 Exam Preparation Course | Advanced Training Starts This Fall

At the AMC 10/12 level, success requires more than knowing the concepts. Students need to connect ideas across Number Theory, Algebra, Geometry, Counting & Probability and develop effective approaches to challenging, multi-step problems.
This fall, iCALC Principal and Lead Math Instructor Dr. Li will lead this 10-week AMC 10/12 program, featuring:
• Systematic review of key topics and challenging concepts
• In-depth training with past AMC problems
• Advanced problem-solving approaches and techniques
• Practice with complex, multi-topic problems
• Competition strategy and performance development
Recommended for students who have completed Grade 10–11 Math and have previously earned awards in Waterloo or AMC math contests.

Competition season is coming!
From CLMC and COMC to AMC 10/12, BCC, CIMC, CSMC, CJMC, HMMT and PUMaC, many major math competitions will take place throughout the fall, followed by AMC 8 in January.
Math competitions are about much more than awards. With the right preparation, students can strengthen their logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, mathematical thinking, and confidence when tackling unfamiliar challenges.

2026 Fryer / Galois / Hypatia: 10 iCALC Students Make the Top 5%!

Congratulations to our students on their outstanding results in the 2026 University of Waterloo Fryer (Grade 9), Galois (Grade 10), and Hypatia (Grade 11) Mathematics Contests!

Based on preliminary results:
15 students earned Distinction or higher (Top 25%), achieving a 63% award rate.
Even more impressively, 10 students made the Honor Roll (Top 5%), representing 42% of our participants!
To celebrate these achievements, iCALC will award course vouchers to our contest winners:
$50 — National Honor Roll
$30 — Ontario Honor Roll or Regional Honor Roll

If you participated in the contest through your own school, please send us your results so we can recognize your achievement and issue the corresponding award.

HypatiaContest

Strong writing doesn’t begin in Grade 11—it starts years earlier.

Most students struggle with high school English NOT due to limited vocabulary, but insufficient skills in literary analysis, idea organization and evidence-based writing.

iCALC’s flagship Advanced Writing is now split into two sequential levels:
Advanced Writing A (Grades 9–10)
Advanced Writing B (Grades 10–11)

The advanced writing courses aim to fully prepare students for ENL1W, ENG2D, OSSLT and Grade 11 university-level English (ENG3U / NBE3U).
Key skills students will gain:
✓ Literary Analysis & Academic Essay Writing
✓ Critical Thinking & Textual Evidence Integration
✓ Academic Vocabulary + Editing & Revision

Writing A builds argumentative writing foundations, aiming for ENG2D and OSSLT. Writing B advances analytical depth eventually to fit Grade 11 university English coursework. This two-stage curriculum builds long-term English proficiency for high school and university studies.

Essential Reading (G4–G6) | Intermediate Reading (G6–G8)

Many students don‘t struggle with English because of vocabulary.
They struggle because they can’t fully understand what they read, explain their thinking, or support their answers with evidence.
That‘s why reading is the foundation of every English skill—reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and literary analysis.

This Fall, iCALC is launching two brand-new Reading Programs:

Essential Reading Class (Grades 4–6)
Build confidence through vocabulary development, reading comprehension, inference, and structured writing. Students learn to understand texts, organize ideas, and express their thinking clearly.

Intermediate Reading Class (Grades 6–8)
Develop higher-level comprehension, critical thinking, literary analysis, and evidence-based writing. Students explore themes, character development, nonfiction analysis, and paragraph writing while preparing for high school English.

Using engaging novels, biographies, historical texts, informational passages, and more, students learn not just to read—but to think, analyze, and communicate with confidence.
Because great writers begin as great readers.
