🎉 Summer Update | MK Kids at the 2026 Toronto Dragon Festival 🐲
This summer, MK Kids once again stepped onto one of Toronto’s major public cultural stages, performing at the 2026 Toronto Dragon Festival at Nathan Phillips Square, in front of Toronto City Hall.
As one of Toronto’s most iconic public spaces, Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto hosts many of the city’s major celebrations and cultural events. For our young singers, performing in the heart of downtown Toronto for audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds was a wonderful opportunity to gain real stage experience. Toronto City Hall
MK Kids performed “A Million Dreams,” a song filled with hope, imagination, and dreams for the future. Their sincere voices and youthful energy reflected not only their vocal training, but also the teamwork, stage presence, and confidence they continue to build through performance.
✨️ MK Singing School Principal and mezzo-soprano Ms. Mao Ke Mao will also perform tonight at 9:30 PM, presenting the classic Chinese song “Long Wen” (《龙文》).
Centered on the cultural image of the dragon, Long Wen brings together many elements of traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese characters, classical poetry, and the traditional five-tone system of Gong, Shang, Jue, Zhi, and Yu. Performing this work at the Dragon Festival creates a meaningful connection between music, language, and cultural heritage.
For MK Singing School, performances like this are about more than being on stage. They give our students the opportunity to grow as young musicians while experiencing how music can connect different languages, traditions, and communities.
From the classroom and rehearsal studio to the stage in front of Toronto City Hall, our students continue to learn, grow, and broaden their horizons through every performance.
Music connects languages. Music connects cultures.
Congratulations to all of our MK Kids! 🎆🎶🐲
