One of the newest and youngest members of our Competition Team. Carter has shown incredible growth and maturity over the past few months.

He listens intently during class, makes an effort to answer every question (even when the seniors don't know the answers 😑) and always does his best to apply the lessons he's learned.

This past tournament was only the third competition Carter has participated in -

Oct 2025 - 🥉 Bronze
Mar 2026 - 🥈 Silver
May 2026 - 🏅 Gold

Each tournament he has continued to improve and the proof is in the hardware!!!

Gold 🏅 performance in a very tough black stripe division at last months tournament.

Facing off against a very strong opponent in the final. Emotions were high but Kyle stayed calm and stuck to the plan. Demonstrated not only his incredible skill but amazing sportsmanship and composure under pressure.

As an added bonus - winning the final meant taking revenge for his teammate who had lost to this opponent earlier in the day in the same division.

Excellent performance Kyle.

Now that we've had a few days to settle back down from the National Championships in Halifax — we want to recognize something truly special.

At the Taekwondo Canada National Championships, Alfred Lam earned 🥇 in the Cadet -45kg Kyorugi division.

Making him the first ever athlete from Alliance Taekwondo to earn a spot on Team Canada for Kyorugi.

But the medal only tells part of the story.

12+ hours.
Last fight of the entire day.
A double-elimination final where he had to beat an undefeated opponent… twice.

Not once did he complain.
Not once did he say he was tired.
Not once did he lose focus.
Not once did he stop believing.

That’s what makes this win so special.

And standing right behind him -
A massive team that stayed until the very end. Every athlete. Every parent. Every sibling. Every friend.

We are so proud — not just of the win — but of the character it took to earn it.
