Joseph Haydn (1732–1809)

Often called the “Father of the Symphony” and the “Father of the String Quartet,” Haydn shaped the sound of the Classical era.

From humble beginnings in Austria to international fame in London, he composed over 100 symphonies and countless chamber works, defining musical structure, balance, and clarity.

A mentor to Ludwig van Beethoven and a close friend of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his influence reaches far beyond his own time.

His music remains a foundation of classical tradition—elegant, inventive, and timeless.

Reina Kweon is an accomplished flutist, performer, and educator with extensive international training and performance experience. She performs with ensembles such as the Korean Canadian Symphony Orchestra, Kindred Spirit Orchestra, and Prime Chamber Music Society, and teaches at Cardinal Carter Academy of the Arts. She also serves as Strategy Director of the York Region Youth Orchestra, supporting the development of young musicians.

Reina holds a Bachelor of Music in Woodwind Performance from Sungshin Women’s University and continued her studies at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She has also trained at the State University of New York with Linda Chesis, the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the Mozarteum International Summer Academy with Peter Lukas Graf.

An award-winning performer, she has received prizes in several major competitions including the National Nanpa Music Competition and the CBS Music Competition, and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues.
