CFMA Judo Dojo

CFMA Judo Dojo Dojo started and run by Duncan Vignale Sensei - Hachidan (8th Degree) black belt.

Duncan Vignale is a Canadian judoka who has played a significant role in the development of judo in Canada and especially Ontario. He has held several important positions such as President of Judo Ontario and Vice-President of Judo Canada, coached the Ontario judo team, and served as a kata judge for the International Judo Federation. He won the Syl Apps Special Achievement Award in 2011, was made a Lifetime Member of Judo Ontario in 2013, and is one of just seventeen Canadian judoka to achieve the rank of hachidan (eighth dan). Vignale was also selected as an alternate to Doug Rogers for the 1964 Summer Olympics

Join us for a referee clinic covering current rules, practical situations and referee development. The clinic is open to all referees and coaches and is eligible for grading points (must attend full day).

Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
Time: 9:00–11:00 a.m. and 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Location: Budokan Judo Club, 75 Centennial Road, Ajax, ON L1S 4S4
Cost: $30
Who can attend: All referees and coaches

Topics will include: General referee responsibilities, referee training and requirements, prohibited actions and penalties, breaking kumikata, counterattacks (kaeshi-waza), rules by age category and much more.

Participants must bring a white judogi.
