“Are they just being lazy?”

Kids with ADHD hear this far too often. But what looks like laziness is usually something much deeper, challenges with focus, memory, and processing that make learning genuinely harder.

👉 In our recent blog post, we explore how ADHD can impact skills like memory, processing speed, and reasoning, and why supporting all of the brain’s cognitive foundations is key to helping children succeed.

✨ If you’ve ever questioned whether it’s laziness or something more, this is an important read. Check it out!

A child’s diagnosis can feel like a lifeline and a weight at the same time.

When your child struggles with attention, learning, anxiety, behavior, or social connection, the question isn’t only “What is it?” It’s also “What will a diagnosis change for my child, for school, for insurance, and for how they see themselves?”

On this episode of podcast, Dr. Amy is joined by pediatric neuropsychologist Dr. Rebecca Fontanetta to talk through the pros and cons of seeking a diagnosis and what matters more than the label at the end of the day.

So many parents come to us after years of OG saying the same thing: "We did everything right. Why isn't it working?"

Orton-Gillingham has been the gold standard for years for helping kids with dyslexia and reading struggles, but you might be surprised to hear that it's not always as effective as you might have thought... and here's why 👇

🧠If cognitive skills like processing speed, memory, reasoning, or visual and auditory processing are weak, even solid reading programs like OG aren't going to stick. It's like pouring good, fresh water into a cracked bottle. The stuff going in is good; the container just isn't solid enough to hold it.

What LearningRx does is address the container AND the contents. In addition to a structured literacy program, we target and train the weak cognitive skills that are making it hard to grasp reading instruction in the first place.

This combination of science-based reading training + cognitive skill building has been a game-changer for thousands of struggling students!

If you're ready to learn more or get help for your struggling reader, contact us today to get started.
