Hello again my little community! We're well into autumn now and, just like this lovely squirrel, many of us are preparing for the winter ahead. As a therapist this means I'm bracing for a much busier time for my practice. I'll be honest that winter is hard for me personally; the shorter days can make it hard to process all that I carry when the sessions end.
I've noticed myself changing over the years since beginning this work and leaning more into quiet places in nature to recharge my batteries. Once an avid resort snowboarder, I'm now more pulled to a quiet cross-country ski trail or backcountry skin track. This has been a challenging shift for me and has forced me to meet myself where I'm at now, rather than clinging to the familiar.
I'd love to know what the changing seasons, both annually and across the lifespan, bring up for you. As always, I am here to sit alongside you to unpack whatever that may be. Your story is important and beautiful.
If you or someone in your life could benefit from a safe and supportive space to tell your story, you'll find my contact details in my bio. 💚
