Psychological Services
All clients
will be provided services by a PhD student in Clinical Psychology under close supervision of registered doctoral psychologists. This may involve sessions with both the student-therapist and supervisor or the student-therapist with close review of sessions by the supervisor. Services offered in the Clinic vary from year to year depending on the expertise of the Clinic supervisors. In the Fall of 2014 and Winter of 2015, we will be providing the following types of services:
•Assessment services for adults to assist with identification of problems and treatment planning;
•Individually based psychotherapy for adults for anxiety, depression, and health-concerns using cognitive-behavioural therapy.
•Group based cognitive-behavioural therapy for adults with anxiety, depression and health-concerns may also be available. Eligibility for Service
In order to ensure high quality of care, we request that all clients have a family physician that they consent to have assessment information released to and who can be contacted in the event of an emergency. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the training setting, we will not be able to accept clients who are: 1) in receipt of other mental health services; 2) involved in litigation; 3) receiving financial compensation from a third party; and or 4) associated with a member of the Sun Life Financial Psychology Training Clinic.
