If your kids are at all musical and you want to encourage them, I suggest doing like Shaun Verrault of Wide Mouth Mason did with his daughter, Layla…This is the coolest thing I’ve seen on Twitter in ages!

Got 30 minutes to kill? This is worth a watch. Also, the original Jim Lill video is mostly the same, but without the reaction and, if I’m being honest, I almost didn’t watch *this video* because the host looked like he was going to lambaste the excellent job that Jim did.

Spoiler alert:

He didn’t.

This is the incomparable Sierra Dawn Hull.

If you ever wondered what you could accomplish by practicing, this would be it. Honest to God, the only thing that comes to mind when I hear playing at this level on an acoustic instrument is “Master”…. She is a masterful player, especially with *that* much joy for having played!

In the immortal words of Wayne & Garth, “We’re not worthy!”

‘tis the season…

I will be closing up shop after December 9th for the Christmas/New Year’s time of the year but I look forward to resuming with all of my students in the week of Jan 4, 2022.

If you or someone you know are interested in learning to play guitar, bass, ukulele or mandolin, give me a shout! I have a few openings currently, on Tuesday or Thursday nights. A book now for the new year and I will hold your spot until then for no charge!

Feliz Navidad e Feliz Año Nuevo!

This is an auspicious day… Proud of myself as a songwriter, I’m proud of my daughter, Naomi as an amazing vocalist, and I’m proud of my cowriter Chelsey for her work and for reaching out to me in the first place. When we originally started writing this, I never dreamed that we would be as globally represented as we are…

A huge debt of gratitude goes out to Michael Perkins ( https://m.facebook.com/RADIOPLAY44/?ref=page_internal&mt_nav=0 ) and Josh Elliott (www.jgestudios.com) for taking the raw materials from my basement studio and refining it into a phenomenal piece of music and for getting it out on all of the conceivable platforms.

Photo credit goes to my amazing son Keegan. You can check out more of his work on Instagram, just look for grandelkphoto.

The other day I posted a new iPhone demo of my latest song called “The Voice Of Reason”. The post was automatically generated by ReverbNation. Little did I know it would be more advertising than content, and that it would make it so difficult for you to find my song.

Here’s a direct link:

Let me know if this worked and what you thought of the tune. Feel free to listen to the rest of my songs and comment as you see fit.

Oh, and if you know someone else who might enjoy it, please share this link...heck, share it anyway!
It’s only a click or two and you might be the reason I get discovered by some big music executive!

Thanks,
Dave
