We have our first official fundraiser for the new playground equipment, with Growing Smiles to order winter plants. Orders need to be placed by November 17, and pickup will be on Dec 3 at the school. Please share with your friends and family that might also want to participate.

Coming up on October 19, the SCC is holding it's Annual General Meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend to hear a wrap up on events that happened over the course of the previous year, and learn about how you can get involved, if you would like.

During this meeting, we will fill any committee positions that come available due to terms ending, or parents leaving the school. This year we will have 3 committee positions available if you are interested in joining the team. These positions are Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer. Participation as a voted member is not required, and anyone can come to any of the meetings through the year.

If you would be interested in any of these positions, or learning more information about them, please feel free to send us a message. We will provide detailed descriptions of each position, and today we will start with Chair.

If you are Chair of the committee, you are the point of contact between the committee and the admin staff. Responsibilities include preparing an agenda for each meeting, and leading the meetings (there are 6-7 in the school year). No experience is required for this position, and there will be support from admin and knowledge from current/previous committee members available. There are no requirements for availability outside of the meetings, but would be beneficial to help with SCC events or school activities.

Congratulations to all the staff that were provided this award last week. Our Head Facility Technician, Jan Limjoco was one of the recipients.

Trustees, administration, family, and friends gathered at the Conexus Arts Centre on September 16th to celebrate the recipients of the 2025-26 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) at its 18th annual ceremony.

Regina Board of Education Trustee Sarah Cummings Truszkowski served as emcee, highlighting the history of the program and celebrating the remarkable achievements of this year's honourees. Assisting on stage, Trustee Ted Jaleta presented the award plaques, while Trustees Cindy Anderson, Tracey McMurchy, Brandon-Shea Mutala, and Lacey Weekes introduced honourees from their respective subdivisions. Chairperson Adam Hicks was also present and engaged the honourees and their guests. In total, 10 recipients were recognized this year, with nine attending the event.

We have an exciting update regarding adding some new playground equipment to the school. We have received approval from the school on the selected equipment, and will now start forming a committee to make plans for fundraising. We need between $30,000 - $45,000 depending on installation costs (company supplied vs local company).
