The New Media Communications Program at SIAST - Wascana Campus and Woodland Campus.
This site was created for the express purposes of keeping an ongoing dialogue with industry professionals who are members of the Program Advisory Committee.
If anyone has any ideas to share on this Alumni Association, please let us know. Also, the 15 year anniversary of the program is coming up and this might be an opportunity to host an Anniversary get together.
We have just this morning created a NMC Alumni page to keep past Grads connected and invite Industry players from the Province to join in on the group. Maybe this becomes a venue for posting jobs around the Province for Alumni to apply. We don't know where it will go, but we want to at least get this started.
There is a number of students interested in doing a Work Placement. If there is any interest from Industry in placing a student, then please let me know. Thanks.
We completed the Industry Tour for this year. The students enjoyed themselves and learned a great deal from Industry professionals. We thank them all for taking the time out of their busy schedules to help the students.
Also, we are looking for ideas for places to include on our annual Industry Tour with the students. Any ideas for new places are certainly welcome.
If you could give me feedback on the following questions, we would be most grateful. First - if we invited Adobe to do some seminar days at SIAST in Regina, what would like them to show/demonstrate? If we invited Apple back to SIAST, what would you like to see from them (or demonstrated) and this can be hardware or software?
There is a social networking workshop at City Hall in Regina on Tuesday June 15th from 8am to 10am.
We have date changes for two events at SIAST. First, the Apple Seminar on Aperture, which is free to anyone interested and food will be provided (and is only a half-day event) please register online at http://edseminars.apple.com/event/2778/
Please register online and forward to anyone you think may be interested.
Also, our Kre8 competition is now scheduled for May 27th. Thanks.
Open House went well and was well attended. Thank you to all who dropped in and to the volunteers who put the event together.
May 5th, from 5pm to 7pm SIAST Wascana Campus will be holding an "open house" event. Anyone interested in the New Media Communications Program is invited to come and tour the facilities, look at examples of student work and speak with students currently in the program. Should be a fun and informative event.
We have moved the date for the Kre8 Design Competition to May 22nd from 9am to 4pm.
