October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month — a time to recognize that every learner has their own strengths, challenges and ways of experiencing the world.
Learning differently doesn’t mean learning less. With understanding, inclusive supports and opportunities to build on their strengths, students with learning disabilities can grow in confidence and experience success in learning and life.
This month, we celebrate the unique strengths of every learner and the educators, staff and families who help students discover what works best for them.

October is Children’s Health Month — a time to celebrate the many things that help children grow, learn and thrive.
Healthy kids are supported in many ways: through movement and nutritious food, meaningful connections, time to rest and play, and spaces where they feel safe, supported and valued.
This month, we celebrate the families, educators and communities working together to help children build healthy habits for today and for the future. Here’s to happy, healthy kids!

Go Magyars! Our Junior Girls 7/8 volleyball team took home 1st🥇place at the Lumsden tournament this weekend! They pushed hard in a third set and pulled out the win! Congrats girls!

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. We recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system and the importance of continuing to listen, learn and reflect.

Orange Shirt Day reminds us of the experiences of Indigenous children who were taken from their families and communities and affirms that Every Child Matters.

As a school division located on Treaty 4 Territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation, we recognize the important role education plays in truth and reconciliation. Through learning and understanding, we can help build a future rooted in respect and stronger relationships.

We encourage students, staff, families and community members to wear orange on September 30 as a visible reminder that Every Child Matters.
